The Sacred Use of Bread and Wine

Today, we will observe the Lord’s Supper.  We’ll remember the death of Christ on the cross, where he bore God’s wrath in our place.

In 1833, Baptists confirmed that

We believe that…the Lord’s Supper, in which the members of the Church, by the sacred use of bread and wine, are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination.

As members of the Church – those in God’s kingdom – we celebrate the dying love of Christ.

But, first, let us remember our sins, and be grateful for the grace and mercy of God.

Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison, Kyrie eleison.
