2012 Cy Young Settles in Middle Tennessee

The 2012 American League and 2012 National League Cy Young winners both hail from middle Tennessee.

David Price, a Blackman High School (Murfreesboro) graduate who played collegiate baseball at Vanderbilt University, is the 2012 American League winner.

R.A. Dickey, who grew up in Nashville and played collegiate baseball at the University of Tennessee, is the 2012 National League winner.

The Baseball Writers Association of America votes each year and awards not only the Cy Young award, but Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and league MVP’s.

A well-deserved congratulations to both of these middle Tennessee players!
