I’m Mark Moore, worship pastor at Third Baptist Church, also known as 3BC.  I live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

I’m married to Michelle – have been for 26 years – and we have two wonderful sons, Griffin, a student at Lipscomb University in Nashville, and Penn, a student at Oakland High School.  We have one house, four cars, and Emmy the Wonderdog, a 12 year-old Weimerainer who is as loyal and smart a dog as I’ve ever known.

In my spare time, I watch my sons play baseball and work in the yard.  I love to fly fish, hunt turkeys, and would prefer to retire in Montana.  I’m a graduate of Mississippi State University (BME), Louisiana State University (MM), and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (DMA).

While I’m a church musician, I wish that I would have spent less time in the practice room and more time reading Luther, Calvin, and Edwards.  If I could go back in time, I’d like to hang out with Isaac Watts, or maybe Ty Cobb.

I listen to everything from Gregorian Chant to Mellencamp to KISS.  And, I’m not sure, but Southern Rock is about as good as it gets.

Hi Mark – I recieved an email today with a link on the open letter to Devin. I’ll keep him in my prayers. Thanks for the letter as well. Anyways, I jumped around a bit on your page because of my love for Christ and baseball as well and saw that you liked to read some heavy hitters. Have you ever read CS Lewis? Let me know, I can forward some of his shorter works to get you started. Really good stuff for me anyways. He’s my latest endeavor.

Glad you saw the letter and the blog. I have not read Lewis thoroughly but do plan to dig into some of his things. He is quoted so much by so many, that I feel like I’ve read his writings (as a matter of fact, I’m quoting him in my blog tomorrow).
Regardless, I appreciate the encourage to pursue Lewis and I would be happy to read any of his things you pass along.
      Keep sharing!

Loved reading your bio. I so agree with your article on ” Serving others as We Worship” I may be old but I still have my voice to glorify Him in song, be it old hymns or contemporary music. I rejoice that most contemporary songs are based on pure scripture. I go to Pandora every night and listen to ” Hymns” most are old hymns with new music.
I so cherish the memories of your childhood and our times together.
